Kiwanis NY-LISCW Key Club Alert

Hey Division 6!

Please take the time to read all of this it is VERY IMPORTANT and pass it along to your club.

Our next divisional will be taking place on Thursday, February 9th at WT Clarke High School at 7pm. This is an incredibly important divisional because we will be holding our election for the next Lieutenant Governor of Division 6!
Each club must send representatives to vote!

That being said, if anyone is interested or knows a hard working, dedicated individual who is interested in running for Lieutenant Governor please let me know as soon as possible. Being LTG is a HUGE commitment so please speak with me and if you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer them. I need to know who is running for this position by Monday, January 30th!

The following clubs have yet to pay their dues to Key Club International: Division Avenue, East Meadow, Garden City, Uniondale, and West Hempstead. Please remind your faculty advisors and get those dues in asap! Thank you to the clubs who have already successfully paid.

A quick reminder that Monthly Report Forms are still required to be submitted by each club by the 7th of every month. Please don’t forget to submit the form for December, better late than never. Again, it can be found online under resources/ paperwork on the district website (www.nydkc.org)

LEADERSHIP TRAINING CONFERENCE IS ONLY 79 DAYS AWAY!
Please note there has been an important change to the pricing. LTC is now $250 per student (in groups of 3-4) and adults are ($300, rooms of 2). It will be held at the same Holiday Inn in Albany on Wolf Road as last year this March 30th to April 1st. We need as many Division 6 Key Clubbers to attend as possible! Join in on a weekend full of workshops, elections, dances, a talent show, and plenty of opportunities to socialize with Key Club members from all over the state. Be there to usher in a new service year, as well as run for higher office or vote in determining the new District Board. LTC is an unforgettable chance to learn, have fun, and most importantly, celebrate the values of service that we all aspire to!

Along with LTC comes Distinguished Key Clubber. It’s that time of year again to submit your applications for this fantastic award. Applications are due by Valentine’s Day, February 14th 2012. Distinguished Key Clubber (DKC) is an award given out to deserving Key Clubbers every year at LTC. I’m expecting a ton of DKC’s from Division 6 this year so I am encouraging everyone to apply. You have all put in so much time and passion into service so you are definitely qualified for this award.  I’ll be more than happy to write anyone the letter of recommendation you need for the application. To get the award your criteria must add up to at least 22 of the possible 44 points. It can be found online here:

Scroll down to where is says: "Divisions 1-13 Distinguished Key Clubber Application 2012."

Thank you for reading this extensive email and I look forward to seeing you at the Elections Divisional February 9th!

Yours in service and friendship,

Lt. Governor Becky Hopkins
