Kiwanis NY-LISCW Key Club Alert |
|
Dear Division 5, It was wonderful seeing all of you at my first divisional at Calhoun High School. Thank you for your enthusiasm and for playing Scene It! Your posters and questions were just great and I hope you are as excited as I am to get this new Key Club year underway! For all those that did not attend; do not worry! Come to the next divisional at CCA Wantagh on May 28 th for Go Green! The Divisional! Go Green! The Divisional! Every club was given a plastic sandwich bag to bring to the next divisional. Every club is challenger to reuse/recycle it in a creative way. We are looking for “outside the box” thinking. You can duplicate, paint, cut, anything you wish to show a way to recycle the bag. Some examples may include - A sandwich, with the bag painted green - A bag of money with a picture of a district project you wish to contribute it to. The possibilities are endless and I encourage all of you to think outside of the box. Creativity allows Key Club to grow and develop, so get working: Franklin Square Street FairOne of our first divisional projects is going to benefit one of our district projects, Pediatric Lyme Disease. When: June 1 st Where: Franklin Square Time: 11am-5pm It would be magnificent if we could have representatives from each school sign up to help at this event. We will be selling tick removal kits and play games of Tick-Tac Toe with any kids that pass by. It is a great way to get involved preventing Pediatric Lyme Disease and raising money to help infected children pay for treatment. Anyone interested should contact me ASAP. Shifts are available. Reminders:
Divisional AppointmentsI am looking for Key Clubbers who are interested in being either Secretary or Public Relations (PR) Chair for Division 5. If you are interested please send me a 500 or less Letter of Interest explaining why you would be good for the job and detailing the leadership experiences you have had in the past. The PR Chair will have the task of dealing with any public relations. They should be interested in writing press releases and attending many events with their LTG. An interest in photography is also a plus. The secretary needs to take notes at the divisional and write the monthly minutes. They should be available to get things organized as well to attend events. Both positions are a great deal of responsibility but also a great deal of fun. It will get you more involved on a division level. You will know first hand what is going on and have the ability to be a strong representative for your school. I hope to see all of your at the next divisional as well as the Franklin Street Fair. I also hope to see some of you apply for divisional appointments. In Your Service, LTG Breanna Romaine NYD Key Club - Division 5 |
