#1773 - Want the Seven Demons Back, the Frustrated Guanyin

Spirit Mountain, Great Thunderclap Temple.

The Tathagata sat high on the lotus platform, golden light flashing in his eyes, an aura of supreme Buddhahood descending upon the scene. Accompanied by his chanting of Buddhist scriptures, golden lotuses bloomed from his mouth, a delicate fragrance permeating the air, with celestial cranes and auspicious clouds floating within, creating strands of unusual phenomena.

Just at this moment, Guanyin returned with a group of female Bodhisattvas.

"Venerable Guanyin, why have you returned so quickly?" The Tathagata paused his chanting, his voice grand and stirring.

"Reporting to Buddha, that Tang Sanzang has already seen the seven female demons, so upon seeing us again, he discerned the clues," Guanyin truthfully reported.

Precisely because there were seven female demons beforehand, if they transformed into seven beauties again, it would naturally be very easy to arouse suspicion.

As for why it had to be seven, it was because this was the fixed number of the tribulation, not to be easily changed; they were also very helpless.

Hearing this, the Tathagata's expression slightly darkened, saying, "Since that's the case, then let the seven demons take action after all."

"But the Prison God Chu Hao said they have already been imprisoned in the Heavenly Prison, unless there is an edict from the Jade Emperor," Guanyin said in a low voice.

There were still words she hadn't finished; the Jade Emperor had asked her to find the Buddha, but the Buddha would naturally not interfere in the affairs of the Heavenly Court, which led to a dead end.

The Buddhas were also whispering among themselves; they were very clear that the best way to resolve this matter was Chu Hao.

The Tathagata also understood, so he slowly opened his mouth: "Summon that Prison God Chu Hao here."

"This..." Guanyin didn't move; she was very clear about Chu Hao's temperament. Unless he voluntarily came to Spirit Mountain, if you wanted him to come, he could delay for ten or eight years.

The nearby Di Ting, being astute, immediately said, "Buddha, that Prison God Chu Hao is still in the Heavenly Court's palace; he probably won't come. It would be better for us to go directly to find him, and also conveniently bring the female demons back to the mortal realm."

"Go then," the Tathagata said.

These words caused a strange light to flash in Guanyin's eyes. She thought to herself, this trip will surely involve another round of bribery; the key is whether you, Buddha, can reimburse it. Don't always make me pay out of pocket.

She was also suffering in her heart; if it weren't for her high status and deep foundation, and the great merit in completing this Journey to the West tribulation, she would have wanted to throw down the burden and quit long ago.

Helplessly, she had no choice but to take Di Ting to the Heavenly Court's Prison God Palace.

Inside the palace, Chu Hao was leisurely lying on a sleeping chair made of white jade, enjoying an all-around massage from the female demons.

There was no helping it; their hospitality was hard to refuse, especially since Chu Hao had also brought them to Heaven, which was great fortune for them as demons.

"Immortal Lord, when will we sisters be able to become immortals?" A female demon in a white dress asked with a smile.

"You have harmed too many lives over the years; your merit is not enough. It must be done slowly," Chu Hao said casually, feeling comfortable all over.

This was the truth; although these seven female demons rarely left the mountains and forests, they had after all killed mortals during that time, and that sin was not so easily erased.

"Then what should we do? Immortal Lord, you can't not help us," the eldest of the spider demons asked, her warm breath tickling Chu Hao's ear.

"Don't worry. However, your tribulation has not yet ended. When this tribulation ends, you must go to the mortal realm and do more good deeds. One day, you will naturally succeed," Chu Hao said.

Just then, Golden Roar hurriedly came over: "Master, the Great Bodhisattva Guanyin and the others have arrived."

"Good that they've come. You all go to the side room and wait; Little Gold, let them in," Chu Hao said, getting up.

He walked to the throne above, calmly sitting there.

Soon, Guanyin and Di Ting walked in, he greeted them with a smile: "Isn't this the Great Bodhisattva Guanyin? Is there an edict from the Jade Emperor?"

"Prison God Chu Hao, those seven demons are a part of the Journey to the West tribulation. Please be merciful and release them," Guanyin said earnestly.

"This is not easy to do," Chu Hao pretended to be troubled.

Guanyin understood his meaning, stepped forward, and took out seven demon cores shimmering with golden light, exuding considerable power, and handed them to Chu Hao.

"Here are seven demon cores of the Quasi-Saint realm, in exchange for the freedom of the seven demons," Guanyin stared at his face and said in a deep voice.

Chu Hao's eyes lit up; these Quasi-Saint realm demon cores were very rare. He happily accepted them, then said to Golden Roar beside him: "Little Gold, release the seven demons."

Chu Hao leisurely sat there, gently sipping the fine tea in his hand.

His fearless appearance seemed to be saying: I just like that you can't stand me, but you can't get rid of me either.

The infuriated Guanyin took a deep breath and said to the obedient seven demons: "Go, follow me back."

The seven demons glanced at Chu Hao, then lowered their heads and respectfully followed Guanyin away.

Seeing this scene, Golden Roar felt a little regretful that the vast palace was once again left with only him.

Chu Hao casually threw a demon core to Golden Roar: "Here, Quasi-Saint realm demon cores are hard to come by; absorb it quickly."

Golden Roar took the demon core, looked at Chu Hao with a surprised expression, and then gratefully kowtowed: "Thank you, Master, for bestowing this treasure."

"Alright, guard the palace well; do not allow anyone to enter," Chu Hao waved his hand, then walked out of the palace.

On the other side, Guanyin took the demon cores to exchange for the seven female demons and rushed non-stop to the mortal realm. Seeing that Tang Sanzang and his disciples were about to reach Yellow Flower Temple, she immediately said to the seven demons: "You immediately go down and bewitch Tang Sanzang."

"Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, should we just go like this?" A spider demon asked softly.

"How else? You deserted the battle last time; I haven't settled the score with you yet. If you fail again this time, then follow me back to the Western Heaven," Guanyin said coldly.

For the sake of these seven demons, she had been running around and even spent seven Quasi-Saint realm demon cores, and her heart was already filled with anger. If it weren't for the tribulation, she would have already taken this spider demon as a mount.

The seven female demons, hearing that they were to be subdued and become mounts of the Western Heaven, quickly agreed.

They didn't want to lose their freedom from then on.

Arriving in the mountains and forests, the seven demons began to discuss how to bewitch Tang Sanzang.

They had already appeared once before; if they appeared again, it would easily arouse suspicion.

"Didn't the Immortal Lord say we had something to leave for? When the time comes, we'll pretend to reunite, and then we'll separate the four of them. Then, let the eldest sister go to seduce Tang Sanzang," the second spider demon said.

"Good method. Anyway, that Sun Wukong definitely knows us and won't take action. We'll lure them away, then quickly finish bewitching him, pretend to be discovered by Sun Wukong, and then flee as if we can't beat him," another spider demon echoed, expressing agreement.
