Chapter 393 - 386: Clara is Missing
After hanging up, Seth Quinn paused in thought for a moment, then dialed Sarah Shelby’s number.
Sarah Shelby answered quickly. "Well, hello, President Quinn. Shouldn’t you be all over Clara? What are you calling me for?"
Because she was so close to Clara, she had started speaking more casually with Seth Quinn.
At her words, Seth Quinn’s brow furrowed. "Clara isn’t at your place?"
Sarah was a little confused. They had just seen each other yesterday, and they didn’t have plans to meet today.
"No, she isn’t. She’s not with you?" ’How could two people who just went public with their relationship not be stuck to each other’s side?’
Seth Quinn started to worry. "I took her to the old Quinn estate today. While we were there... something happened, and she ran off. I figured if she wasn’t at home, she must have gone to your place."
"Well, is she home?" Sarah started to get anxious too.
"I just called to check. She’s not there." Seth Quinn couldn’t sit still any longer, getting to his feet as he spoke. "She’s been gone for two or three hours. Do you know anywhere else she likes to go?"
"Places she likes to go? Besides home and school, she usually just comes to my place. There’s nowhere else." Sarah also shot to her feet, grabbing her car keys and heading for the door. "President Quinn, what on earth happened at your family’s home? Why would Clara suddenly run off?"
’Wasn’t it a good thing that Seth took Clara to meet his parents? It meant they were finally going to be a proper, loving couple out in the open.’
’Could it be that Seth’s parents don’t approve of Clara?’
Her mind was still racing with wild thoughts when Seth spoke again. "It’s too complicated to explain over the phone. I’m going to look for her now."
"I’m heading out to look for her too. Let’s stay in touch." With that, Sarah hung up and hurried out the door.
Seth Quinn walked out of his office at the same time. River Sterling and Linden Jennings, having just come from Seth’s office, were idly chatting in Chase Childs’s office.
Seeing Seth come out, one of them immediately asked, "Seth, heading out?"
But Seth had no time to answer, simply ordering Chase Childs, "Chase, with me."
Linden Jennings noticed his strange expression and asked, "What’s wrong? What happened?"
Seth was in no mood to hide it from them now. He glanced at him. "Clara’s missing."
"What? What do you mean, Clara’s missing?" River Sterling was stunned. If Linden Jennings hadn’t shot him a glare, his voice would have been loud enough to shake the building.
Linden Jennings looked at Seth Quinn. "What happened?"
"It’s a long story. I have to find her first," Seth said, leading Chase toward the elevator.
Linden Jennings and River Sterling hurried after them. "We’ll help. Novaria isn’t huge, but it’s not small either. It’ll take forever for just the two of you."
"Alright." Seth didn’t refuse. Finding Clara was the most important thing right now.
The men filed into the elevator, and Linden Jennings started giving orders. "Alright, the four of us will split up and cover the four directions of Novaria. We’ll do a first pass by car. If we don’t find her, we’ll come up with another plan."
"Right."
Each man got into his car and drove off in one of the four cardinal directions of Novaria.
Four directions, four cars, four men. Plus Sarah Shelby circling the city center, that made five people. They searched for hours but saw no sign of Clara Grant.
River Sterling called Seth Quinn. "Seth, this isn’t working. Clara isn’t necessarily just walking along the road. Think, where else could she be? Could she have gone back to the film set?"
Only then did it occur to Seth. In his panic, he’d completely forgotten about that.
