Chapter 274 Dismissal
Chapter 274 Dismissal
Shen Li sat down in the main seat of the conference room, with Zhao Qing and another bodyguard standing on either side of her. Two tall, imposing men stood guard at the door, exuding a calm and collected aura that suggested they were not to be trifled with.
Not long after, the factory's office director, accountant, and Fang Yi, a total of eight people, walked in one after another.
Apart from Fang Yi, everyone else only knew that the factory had been acquired by a private individual, and had never even met the new boss.
When they saw that the person sitting in the main seat was a very young girl, they couldn't help but be stunned for a moment, their eyes filled with surprise and doubt: This young comrade is actually the new boss?
The crowd secretly wondered: This is probably a young lady from a wealthy family in the capital, out to experience life and start a business.
Logically speaking, most powerful and influential families would send their children into government service; it's quite rare to see someone so young venturing into the business world.
With this in mind, everyone understood – it seemed that this new boss probably only had money and no real power, and that the factory's affairs would likely have to rely on them, the "old hands," to keep things running.
Fang Yi, however, dared not underestimate Shen Li in the slightest. He had heard everything Feng Quan had done that night.
Relying on his family's power, Feng Quan was used to acting arrogantly and domineeringly. This wasn't the first time he had done something like this, but this time he had just run into a brick wall.
I heard that not only are people in the political arena watching, but the military has also sent people to secretly protect Shen Li and has handed over solid evidence, making the largest public security, procuratorate and judicial organs in the capital pay close attention to this case.
Fang Yi became more and more curious about Shen Li's background.
With such a strong background, how could he remain unknown in Beijing and instead take over such an inconspicuous machinery factory?
Shen Li's gaze swept over everyone present, his tone crisp and decisive: "I won't say anything more. From today onwards, I officially take over this factory. You can call me General Manager Shen from now on. Secondly, this handover of the factory also includes everyone here—if anyone feels uncomfortable with the new boss and doesn't want to continue working here, they can submit their resignation at any time, and I will not force them."
She paused, then changed the subject: "As for the factory's existing systems, they will remain the same for now. After all, Director Fang managed things very well before."
Upon hearing this, everyone's eyes turned to Fang Yi, filled with doubt: Why isn't Director Fang leaving?
Even Shen Li noticed the strange stares and wondered to himself: Why is everyone staring at Director Fang?
Just then, Fang Yi stood up and said firmly, "I will not leave. I will work under President Shen from now on and I will do my best."
Seeing that Fang Yi had expressed his opinion, the others nodded in agreement: "We'll stay too! We'll follow General Shen!"
Their biggest worry before was losing their jobs after the factory changed hands. Now, although the new boss is young, he hasn't mentioned layoffs. Since they can keep their jobs, no one wants to leave easily—after all, they've worked in one place for a long time and are familiar with the place. Changing to a new environment means they have to adapt all over again.
"Okay." Shen Li nodded in satisfaction. "Today is the first day. Each of you will write a detailed work report and submit it to me."
She'll go to the factory later to check on the latest developments.
After saying that, she looked at Fang Yi: "What unfinished orders does the factory have? I'd like to see the relevant information as well."
"Okay, I'll get ready in a bit," Fang Yi replied quickly.
Shen Li asked everyone to leave first, leaving only her and Fang Yi in the conference room.
Fang Yi looked at his office and quickly said, "President Shen, please sit in this office. I'll move to the one next door."
"No need." Shen Li shook her head, her tone calm. "Just tidy up the space next door for me to use as an office. I'll be at the factory for the next month to oversee things. Once the factory is running smoothly, I'll have other things to take care of."
Seeing that Shen Li's attitude was firm and not just polite, Fang Yi stopped insisting: "Alright, Mr. Shen, please rest in my office for now. I'll go and have the logistics director tidy up the room next door."
"No rush, I'll go out for a walk first." Shen Li said, getting up and walking towards the workshop with four bodyguards.
Upon entering the workshop, a strong smell of engine oil and rust hit you.
The ground was covered in oil stains, the machinery was rusty, and parts and tools were piled up haphazardly, making the place look messy and disorganized.
"Are all machine factories this dirty and messy?" Shen Li frowned, a hint of doubt rising in her mind.
She walked to the production line and watched the workers processing the parts—she already knew that these were tractor parts.
But nowadays tractors are being phased out, and related business will only decrease. If this factory continues to stick to its old business, it will go out of business sooner or later.
Thinking of this, Shen Li suddenly remembered Jerry; she hadn't had a chance to contact him yet.
It seems I'll have to find the phone number when I get home tonight. She thought to herself.
Just as Shen Li was looking around, he caught a glimpse of a figure sneaking around in the corner of the workshop, as if he was trying to find out something or avoiding someone.
She subtly gave Zhao Qing a look.
Zhao Qing immediately understood and strode over, pulling the man out of the corner.
The man stumbled as he was pulled, instinctively lowering his head to try and cover his face.
Shen Li stepped forward and looked him over. Zhao Qing understood, reached out and gently lifted the man's head.
Upon seeing the other person's face, a hint of surprise flashed in Shen Li's eyes, followed by a cold smile: "Song Guangyao? It's you."
Seeing that he had been recognized, Song Guangyao stopped hiding and simply raised his head, forcing a fake smile on his face and speaking in a fawning tone: "Third Sister..."
"Who is your third sister?" Shen Li interrupted him, her tone icy and devoid of any warmth.
At this moment, the workshop manager heard the commotion and quickly walked over, sizing up Shen Li with a somewhat tentative tone: "Comrade, may I ask who you are?"
"I'm the new boss of this factory." Shen Li said concisely, exuding an aura of authority.
The manager was taken aback for a moment, then quickly realized what was happening and adopted a respectful expression, his tone becoming more refined: "Oh! It's Mr. Shen, my apologies for not being here sooner! May I ask what brings you here, Mr. Shen?"
Shen Li ignored his polite words, her gaze returning to Song Guangyao, and asked in a flat tone, "Are you the only one working here?"
"No, my dad is here too," Song Guangyao replied in a low voice, a hint of unease flashing in his eyes.
"Was it arranged by Song Pandi?" Shen Li pressed, his tone revealing neither joy nor anger.
"Yes..." Song Guangyao's voice was even lower.
Shen Li turned to look at the manager, her tone suddenly turning cold and leaving no room for argument: "Fire him and Song Laigui together."
The manager froze, his smile vanished, and he didn't react for a moment.
"Is there a problem?" Shen Li raised an eyebrow, his eyes sharp as knives.
"No, no!" The manager quickly shook his head, fine beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "I'll tell logistics right away, and get it done immediately!"
