The Golem Mage

Chapter 1147: One - Two.

Chapter 1147: One - Two.

In a clearing not too far from Alec’s city, the mage who had finally healed the hole in his hand and managed to summon his army, along with a few extra soldiers through something called the Unit Purchase from his city heart system, couldn’t help looking toward the direction where Alec’s city clearing was supposed to be.

Even from where he stood, he could hear the snarling and the distinct screeching echoing through the distance.

Since the battle began and he saw the small number of Zergs that had appeared at his own little wooden barricade and trap-filled surroundings, he had already felt that something wasn’t adding up.

After managing to clear out the Zergs attacking his region, though not without losses, he quickly took a portion of his army to scout the surrounding area hoping to run into the nice boss that helped him out, but the moment he saw the army of Zergs gathered around Alec’s territory, chills ran straight down his spine.

He had never seen anything like that in his entire life, and at that moment, he finally understood why the number of Zergs attacking his own region had been so low, it was because a massive portion of them had been diverted toward Alec’s region.

He had once heard that Zerg attacks could lessen if the neighboring territory happened to belong to a Level 2 city lord, this was considered a blessing that many prayed for, since the Level 2 city lord would usually bear the greater burden of the attack.

However, while many wished to have a Level 2 city lord nearby, there were also others who secretly prayed such a thing would never happen to them.

Because having a Level 2 city lord as a neighbor was a double-edged sword. If that lord failed to contain the attack and ended up dying, then his city would become a nest for the Zergs.

And once that happened, the massive swarm that had been drawn there by the energy leaking from the city heart would simply turn its attention toward the nearest lord clearing still left standing.

However, for this lord, after seeing the sheer number of Zergs gathered there, he couldn’t help wondering how that monster of a mage he had met earlier would possibly survive it.

But he wasn’t in the business of helping others. He still wanted to keep his own life, and so he and his bandit unit slowly withdrew from the area, as he felt he finally understood why alec was so strong was because he was a second level city lord but then he kept wondering just how a new city lord that has just arrived would be that strong.

_ _

[The second wave will be starting soon.]

The system notification appeared once again, but Alec didn’t really care about it, he simply didn’t believe that any incoming wave could be more dangerous than what he was already facing.

“Die!” the Abyssal Brood Lord roared as he dashed forward, his movements showing just how desperate he had become.

The Zergs never cared about numbers, because as long as the Queen was alive, more could always be born.

However, in the Tier 6 region, there was only a small sub-Zerg Queen, one he had been left behind to protect. She was still young compared to the All-Mother Zerg Queen, who possessed the Hive Mind skill and could speak to and command every Zerg born directly from her line.

His only mission had been to protect that young queen, but because she noticed that her spawns were dying far faster than she expected in a certain area, she had eventually started sending out more and more special Zergs to that place to locate the problem.

In the end, she even ordered him to go and check the battlefield himself, while she remained guarded by the other Brood Lords around her.

Though he held a higher rank than that young queen, however; she was still a queen zerg—one of the favored children of the Monarch-rank Zerg Queen.

He did not dare refuse her command, which was why he had come out to investigate. In truth, he had not even planned to interfere personally.

However, Alec had displayed several disturbing feats, and that was what forced the Abyssal Brood Lord to take the matter seriously, for the first time, he had cast aside his pride. Right now, he only had one wish—

to eliminate Alec.

Because he had already come to believe that Alec would become a major threat to the young Zerg Queen’s reign of terror over the Tier 6 region, since in this battle format it was a battle between the Zergs and the lords of the other races.

By now, the smaller Zerg Queen’s children sent to other locations would have already started growing stronger, all they needed was to consume something stronger in order to boost their cultivation.

Their cultivation speed was so fast and chaotic that it was one of the main reasons many of them did not even have proper body structures, as they devour all the body essence of those they have consumed to shape themselves, this is why their evolution was irregular, violent, and far too swift.

But then the Abyssal Brood Lord had seen the army of golems Alec possessed, though they were few in number, however; they carried frightening power, and after Alec casually created another one in the Tier 7 realm right before its eyes, its determination to kill Alec rose by another level.

It felt that even if Alec could not create golems at the same speed the Queen birthed new Zerg warriors, he had made up for that weakness with just how powerful his golems truly were.

The moment the Abyssal Brood Lord closed the distance, it struck instantly. Alec however lightly pushed off the ground, making it look as though he would dodge the attack with ease.

However, at the very last second, the Abyssal Brood Lord bent its arm, halted the swing, and changed the motion into a backhanded piercing strike.

“Hmm.”

Seeing that he was about to be impaled, Alec used his mana to activate his black ash power, if there was one thing he had learned, it was that the black ash sub-ability worked perfectly well with his sanguine bat bloodline.

The purple blade, which looked more like a sticky mass of muscle than an actual metal weapon, pierced straight into Alec.

However, the Abyssal Brood Lord could immediately tell that something was wrong, because even as the weapon sank deep into Alec, it did not feel as though it had pierced flesh at all.

Boof.

In the next instant, Alec’s body burst apart into dark smoke that spread across the area where he had been standing, while smaller bat-like figures scattered in every direction, leaving the Abyssal Brood Lord confused as it tried to figure out which one among them was the real Alec.

But the problem was that every single one of them carried the same aura and mana as Alec, the bats flew to the other side of the Abyssal Brood Lord, where they merged back together to form Alec in a very swift motion.

The Abyssal Brood Lord was still stunned by what had just happened, and that brief moment of shock was all Alec needed to unleash his combo.

The instant his body reformed, Alec coated his hands in gravity energy, as dark purple power wrapped around his fists like a pair of gloves, though it was only appearing that way because of the sheer amount of mana he had poured into them.

Without hesitation, he pushed straight into Abyssal Brood Lord’s center, then followed it up by slipping past its raised guard and sending a brutal left uppercut into its jaw.

Bang!

With gravity amplifying the speed of his strike and his strength enhanced by the vampire bloodline, the Abyssal Brood Lord felt its vision blur from that single hit, as a series of purple like waves appeared from where alecs had made contact.

But Alec didn’t stop there, he chained that blow with a vicious right hook.

Boom!

His right hand landed squarely against the Abyssal Brood Lord’s chin, and the force of the punch sent it flying all the way toward the center of the battlefield before it crashed down, knocked cold.
